Note:
Out of latest batch of 150 WGS samples sent earlier in the week, 74 results have been received and balance 76 are pending validation. Of the results received, 64 have been identified as Omicron variant and 10 as Delta variant. Along with the 121 cases already declared in yesterdays bulletin as Omicron with the addition of the 64 cases identified in present set through whole genomic sequencing, the total OMICRON cases in Tamil Nadu so far is 185. Discharges are separately included in the table. 6 Omicron cases was cross notified to Kerala (1), Puducherry (3) and Andhra Pradesh (2). The Numbers may vary from Yesterdays Bulletin due to Contact tracing and Reconciliation.

Passengers returned from Other Countries by International Airport includes Sri Lanka (1) UAE (5). Passengers returned from Other Countries by Domestic Airport is from Delhi (1). Passengers returned from other States by Road includes West Bengal (19), Bangladesh (5), Delhi (4), Bihar (4), Assam (3), Kerala (3), Karnataka (2), Jharkhand (2), Puducherry (1). Tamil Nadu doesnot use Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Tests (RADT). There may be a difference in number of sample tested given here in the media bulletin and the ICMR portal in view of time-lag between test conducted, results declared that are shared in real time basis by the labs to the state and the districts and the time taken for the data updation in the ICMR portal. Out of 10 deaths due to COVID-19, 5 are in Government Hospitals and 5 are in Private Hospitals.
