Passengers returned from other States by Road includes Andhra Pradesh (14), West Bengal (9), Bihar (3), Jharkhand (1) and Karnataka (1). Tamil Nadu doesn't use RADT. There may be a difference in number of sample tested given here in the media bulletin & the ICMR portal in view of time-lag between test conducted, results declared that are shared in real time basis by the labs to the state & the districts & the time taken for the data updation in the ICMR portal. Approximately 2300 passengers travelled from UK between 25th Nov & 23rd Dec forenoon. Of the above, 2146 were traced & tested, of which 24 were tested positive & 2122 were tested negative. Though these 2122 travellers already were tested negative, as a matter of extra precaution 3977 close contacts of them were traced & tested, all were found to be negative. 4578 UK returnees arrived between 08/01/2021 & 09/05/2021. Of the above, 4176 were traced & tested, of which 16 are tested positive, 4152 are tested negative. Results of 8 passengers are awaited. The Total Primary Cases returned from UK as on 09/05/2021 & cases through their contacts till date are 40 & 20 respectively, which are classified by districts namely Chennai (9,6), Thanjavur (3,3), Madurai (5,0), Nilgiris (3,2), Chengalpattu (5,4), Theni (1,2), Nagapattinam (1,3), Coimbatore (1,0), Karur (2,NA), Virudhunagar (1,NA), Tiruchirappalli (8,0) and Sivaganga (1,0). Of the above 40 primary & 20 contact cases, 1 primary case tested positive is under treatment in separate isolation ward. Remaining 39 primary & 20 contact cases tested negative on follow-up RT-PCR testing are discharged & completed home quarantine. Out of 236 deaths due to COVID-19, 151 are in Govt Hospitals & 85 are in Private Hospitals.
