Passengers returned from other states by Domestic Airport is from West Bengal (2). Passengers returned from other states by Road includes West Bengal (2), Karnataka (1). Tamil Nadu doesn't use RADT. There may be a difference in number of sample tested given here in the media bulletin and the ICMR portal in view of time-lag btw test conducted, results declared that are shared in real time basis by the labs to the state and the districts and the time taken for the data updation in the ICMR portal. 1 private lab Aarthi scans & labs, 14D santhaipettai street, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi have been recently approved & hence the total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities gets increased to 253. Approximately 2300 passengers travelled from UK between 25th Nov & 23rd Dec forenoon. Of the above, 2146 were traced & tested, of which 24 were tested positive & 2122 were tested negative. Tracing of other passengers are underway. Though these 2122 travellers already were tested negative, as a matter of extra precaution 3977 close contacts of them were traced and tested, all were found to be negative. 1018 UK returnees arrived between 08/01/2021 & 29/01/2021. Of the above 906 were traced & tested, of which 2 are tested positive, 887 are tested negative. Results of 17 passengers are awaited. Tracing of other passengers are underway. The Total Primary Cases returned from UK as on 29/01/2021 & cases through their contacts till date are 26 & 20 respectively, which are classified by districts namely Chennai (9,6), Thanjavur (3,3), Madurai (3,0), Nilgiris (3,2), Chengalpattu (3,4), Theni (1,2), Nagapattinam (1,3), Coimbatore (1,0), Karur (1,NA) & Virudhunagar (1,NA). Of the above positive primary & contact cases, 26 primary & 20 contact cases are tested negative on follow up RT-PCR sample testing. Out of 6 deaths due to COVID-19, 3 are in Govt Hospitals & 3 are in Private Hospitals.
