Passengers returned from other states by Road includes Kerala (1) and West Bengal (1). Tamil Nadu doesn't use RADT. There may be a difference in number of sample tested given here in the media bulletin and the ICMR portal in view of time-lag between test conducted, results declared that are shared in real time basis by the labs to the state and the districts and the time taken for the data updation in the ICMR portal. Approximately 2300 passengers travelled from UK between 25th Nov & 23rd Dec forenoon. Of the above, 2146 were traced & tested, of which 24 were tested positive & 2122 were tested negative. Tracing of other passengers are underway. Though these 2122 travellers already were tested negative, as a matter of extra precaution 3977 close contacts of them were traced and tested, all were found to be negative. 2376 UK returnees arrived between 08/01/2021 & 22/02/2021. Of the above 1975 were traced & tested, of which 12 are tested positive, 1931 are tested negative. Results of 32 passengers are awaited. Tracing of other passengers are underway. The Total Primary Cases returned from UK as on 22/02/2021 & cases through their contacts till date are 36 & 20 respectively, which are classified by districts namely Chennai (9,6), Thanjavur (3,3), Madurai (5,0), Nilgiris (3,2), Chengalpattu (4,4), Theni (1,2), Nagapattinam (1,3), Coimbatore (1,0), Karur (1,NA), Virudhunagar (1,NA) and Tiruchirappalli (7,0). These are part of the overall up-to-date numbers declared as on date. Of the above 36 primary & 20 contact cases 7 primary case UK returnee tested positive is under treatment in separate isolation ward. Remaining 29 primary and 20 contact cases tested negative on follow-up RT-PCR testing are discharged and kept under home quarantine. Out of 6 deaths due to COVID-19, 4 are in Government Hospitals & 2 are in Private Hospitals.
