Passengers returned from other countries by International Airport is from UK (2). Passengers returned from other states by Road includes Andhra Pradesh (2), Bihar (1) and Karnataka (1). Tamil Nadu doesn't use RADT. There may be a difference in number of sample tested given here in the media bulletin and the ICMR portal in view of time-lag between test conducted, results declared that are shared in real time basis by the labs to the state and the districts and the time taken for the data updation in the ICMR portal. Approximately 2300 passengers travelled from UK between 25th November and 23rd December forenoon. Of the above, 2146 were traced and tested, of which 24 were tested positive and 2122 were tested negative. Tracing of other passengers are underway. Though these 2122 travellers already were tested negative, as a matter of extra precaution 3942 close contacts of them were traced and tested, all were found to be negative. 201 UK returnees arrived between 08/01/2021 and 12/01/2021. Of the above 52 were traced and tested, of which 2 are tested positive, 47 are tested negative. Results of 3 passengers are awaited. Tracing of other passengers are underway. The Total Primary Cases returned from UK as on 12/01/2021 and cases through their contacts till date are 26 and 20 respectively, which are classified by districts namely Chennai (9,6), Thanjavur (3,3), Madurai (3,0), Nilgiris (3,2), Chengalpattu (3,4), Theni (1,2), Nagapattinam (1,3), Coimbatore (1,0), Karur (1,NA) and Virudhunagar (1,NA). These are part of the overall up-to-date numbers declared as on date. All the UK returnee positive patients and their positive contacts are kept in separate isolation wards. Of the above positive primary and contact cases, 12 primary and 14 contact cases are tested negative on follow up RT-PCR sample testing. Out of 8 deaths due to COVID-19, 3 are in Government Hospitals and 5 are in Private Hospitals.
